- For double hung windows, Unlock the sash locks.
- Raise the lower sash at least 2 or 3 inches.
- Release both tilt latches and pull the top of the sash toward you.
- To tilt in the top sash (not applicable to single hung windows), first tilt in the lower sash, then repeat steps 2 and 3 for the top sash.
- If you have trouble getting the sash back down or up then the Pivot bar on the sash is not properly placed inside the frame shoe. Try tilting the sashes back down and take it out of frame by holding the sash at a 90-degree angle from the frame and lifting directly upward. Return it to the frame making sure that the metal pivot bars on the corners are fully engaged in the frame shoe.
To operate tilt-in sliders*:
- Unlock the sash locks.
- Slide the inner sash at least 2 or 3 inches toward the center.
- Release both tilt latches and pull the center side of the sash toward you.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other sash.
*Tilt-in sliders are not made to vent; the tilt-in function is for cleaning only.
To remove lift-out slider sashes:
- Unlock the sash locks.
- Slide the inner sash toward the center.
- Lift the sash up, removing the bottom first, and bring into the house for cleaning.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the outside panel.
To remove lift-out slider sashes:
- Unlock the sash locks.

- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the outside panel.
- Keep sill track clean of dirt and debris so water can freely flow outside.
- Keep all weep holes free of obstructions so water can freely flow outside.
- Inspect exterior caulking regularly and replace when necessary.
- Clean and check operation of hardware and weatherstripping regularly and repair if necessary.
- Keep weatherstrip clean of dirt and grit for proper seal. Wash with mild soap and water, rinse with water and wipe dry. Apply a light coat of wax (Lemon Pledge®) and wipe off excess.
- Determine the source of any moisture that you see around your windows or doors and stop its entry and accumulation.
- Immediately dry out any areas around the interior of your windows and doors that you observe are wet (immediate action is necessary to mitigate any damage to your home). The use of a dehumidifier, fan or any warm air source will help dry out affected area.
- Maintain relative humidity at moderate levels.
- To clean, wash with mild soap and water, rinse with clear water and wipe dry. Apply a light coat of wax (Lemon Pledge®) and wipe off excess.
- For scuff marks on painted finishes, use mild liquid cleanser, rinse with clear water and wipe dry.
- If finish is accidentally scratched or chipped, clean as recommended above and use standard wood finish repair crayon or touch-up paint supplied.
Vinyl windows are painted with a factory-applied finish, ensuring no peeling, flaking or blistering occurs; however, natural contaminants such as dirt or bird droppings should be removed as soon as possible.
- To clean, wash with mild soap and water. Rinse with clear water and wipe dry.
- DO NOT use any harsh chemicals or abrasives, including power washers, as this may discolor or damage the painted surface.
To clean, wash with mild soap and water. Heavy dirt and stains may require stronger cleaning compounds such as a vinyl siding cleaner. The surface can be wiped down with solvents such as turpentine, naphtha, nail polish remover (acetone) and alcohol. CAUTION: Some cleaners may mar or scratch vinyl. Abrasive cleaners will scratch the surface and are not recommended.
No, you do not need to remove screens for winter. Most full screens have pull tabs on one side to release the tension and pull the screen out. Half screens usually do not have tabs and only need to be pushed into one side and pulled out. Some full screens also have this option without tabs.
Refer to our warranty information in your packet. We offer an apples to apples double life of the home warranty. We have a full time service department to help our customers with any issues that might arise that are covered under warranty.
It’s not the windows, it's the humidity. There are numerous factors that can contribute to condensation forming on the inside or outside of your windows. Depending on the time of year and humidity levels in your home you might see increased condensation. As long as it’s not in between the glass. If it’s in between the glass then a possible seal failure may have occurred and it should be replaced. This is a very rare occurrence. If you have more concerns on this matter please contact us for more detailed information.
Installers need to have access to the inside and outside of the home. You should move any furniture and fragile items near the workspace including curtains. Any alarm systems may have to be moved as well. We are not responsible for alarm systems but will work to accommodate the alarm company reinstalling what is needed. Every install is different but most residential jobs are completed between one and five days depending on what the job entails.
Lead times for our products have been all over since the start of the pandemic but have since started working their way back to normal. We tell all our customers to allow up to 26 weeks in order to cover all our products but most arrive earlier than that.

Yes, we ask for someone to be home at least to let our installers in and to be home when they finish to do a final walkthrough with you.
